Take care of your skin

Aftercare Guide

Following these instructions after your treatment helps your skin heal beautifully and protects your results.

First 24 Hours

Your skin is most sensitive right after treatment. Be gentle!

Keep the area clean — gently cleanse with a mild, fragrance-free cleanser.

Apply the Bare Hair Aftercare Serum (or aloe vera / witch hazel) to soothe redness.

Use a clean, cool damp cloth to reduce any swelling or heat.

Do NOT touch the treated area with unwashed hands.

Do NOT apply makeup, heavy creams, or fragranced products to the treated area.

Do NOT scratch, pick, or squeeze any small bumps or whiteheads — they will heal on their own.

Do NOT shave the area — you can tweeze stray hairs if needed, but avoid shaving irritated skin.

📅

First Week

Apply SPF 30+ sunscreen to treated areas that will be exposed to sun.

Keep the area moisturized with a gentle, fragrance-free product.

Let any small scabs fall off naturally — do not pick them.

Avoid intense sun exposure on the treated area for at least 48–72 hours.

Skip saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, and intense workouts for 24–48 hours.

Avoid retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and chemical exfoliants on the area for at least 5–7 days.

Do not wax or use hair removal cream — these can irritate healing skin and pull out hairs before they can be treated.

What's Normal to See

🔴

Redness

Mild redness around treated follicles is normal and typically fades within a few hours.

💧

Tiny Whiteheads

Small white bumps may appear — these are normal and will disappear on their own within 24–48 hours. Do not squeeze them.

🌡️

Warmth / Heat

The area may feel warm for a few hours after treatment. A cool compress can help soothe this.

Minor Swelling

Slight puffiness, especially in sensitive areas like the lip, is normal and resolves quickly.

⚠️ When to Reach Out

If you experience significant swelling, intense pain, spreading redness, oozing, or signs of infection that worsen after 48 hours — please contact me right away or see a healthcare provider. These reactions are rare but should be addressed promptly.

Between Sessions

Shaving is okay Shaving is okay between appointments — it does not affect the root of the hair and won't interfere with treatment. Do NOT wax, thread, or tweeze between sessions, as these methods temporarily remove the hair from the follicle, which means there's no hair to treat at your next appointment.

Let some hair grow before your appointment Let some hair grow before your appointment — at least 2–3 days of visible growth so we have hair to work with. The more hair visible, the more effective your session will be.

Stay consistent Stay consistent — regular sessions on your recommended schedule are the key to permanent results. Gaps in treatment can slow your progress.
